The Story Behind Sassy Scentuals: Where Skincare Meets Sass (and a whole lot of heart)

Let's be honest--there are a lot of skincare brands out there.  But none of them had my voice. None of them spoke to the busy, no-nonsense, fun-loving folks who want products that feel indulgent without the fluff, smell amazing without the mystery chemicals, high price tag, and treat your skin like it actually matters.

So I rolled up my sleeves, gathered my oils, butters, spreadsheets, and wild ideas, and Sassy Scentuals was born.

Why I Started This Business (Besides the Obvious Love of All Things Soft & Smelly)

Here's the truth:  I have super sensitive skin. Like, "random drugstore lotions just made my skin feel like it was on fire" kind of sensitive.  I was tired of reading labels full of ingredients I couldn't pronounce and had to Google--and even more tired of products that promised hydration and instead delivered, rashes, burning, 1 hour worth of moisture, or nothing at all.

I knew I could do better. So I dove headfirst into mountains of research--studying ingredient safety, what truly nourishes the skin, what clogs it, what heals it, and what just sounds fancy on a label. I didn't just want clean skincare--I wanted effective, safe, skin-loving skincare that didn't need a chemistry degree to decode.

And sourcing? That was another rabbit hole. I've been obsessed with finding the best quality ingredients from reputable, ethical suppliers--because what you put on your skin matters.. If it's going to soak into YOUR body, it better me something I'd trust on my own body.

What's in Sassy Scentuals (and What's Not)

Everything in my body butter is handpicked with care:

• Coconut oil, hempseed oil, and sunflower oil for rich, non-greasy hydration
• Aloe and glycerin to calm and lock in moisture
• Emulsifying wax and cetyl alcohol (a non-drying fatty alcohol) to make the magic smooth, stable, and non-irritating
• Optiphen Plus, a gentle, paraben-free preservative that keeps things fresh without the ick
• Phthalate-free fragrance blends that smell amazing without being harsh on skin

What's not in it? Parabens, dyes, mineral oils, animal testing, or anything that made my skin mad. Because if it doesn't work for me, it's not going into the jar and into your home.

Our whipped body butter is just the beginning. I'm working on soaps, lip balms, bath bombs, and other skin treats that are gentle, joyful, and totally extra--in the best way. (I might even have something for furry faced fellas too.) Because self-care for women and men should never feel like a chore.
